sat demo story
It was a summer morning that was unexpectedly cold.
The wind blew in my face as I walked down the empty streets of my city.
My head hurt from yesterdays events.
It involved lots of drinking and a very late night.
3am all bottles were empty and
Jake, Eve, Adam and me went out to buy some more.
I'm starting to regret doing that because of the event that happened next.
We decided to walk by feet. It's not far to the store.
Halfway to the store, we decided to take a shortcut through a nearby alleyway.
"Come on! It'll get us there in half the time!" Jake told me. I was a bit terrified of going through the alley. "Okay." I finally agreed.
As we walked down the dark alleyway, Eve and I jumped at every little noise while Jake and Adam laughed at us.
Not until they heard a loud thud and jumped instead on Eve and
We laughed at them this time, but I still felt terrified.
"Who's scared now?" I stuck my tongue out at them.
But the moment of distraction didn't last for long, as before us was something unexpected. The silence followed, piercing us all through our spine.
A man appeared wearing all black, with his hoodie on. "Um, hi?" Jake said, and I hit his arm. "What?" He shrugged. I
I rolled my eyes at him. "Lets turn back now guys." Eve shivered. The man cam closer, and we took a few steps back, heading towards our original pathway.
Except this time when we did there was something blocking our path. The siloutted figure remained where he was
"What are we going to do?" I whispered towards Adam. The man started moving even closer to us. My breathing started slowing, and my heart rate get
was getting faster. "Come on man. Stop playing with us. Just let us go on our way." Jake yelled back at the man.
The man spoke, "I will let you go on your way, if you do one thing for me.". Jake replied "What's that?"
"Here's the deal." The man spoke with a husky voice. "There's this guy that owes me money. In fact, it's been a month since he has needed to give it to me."
Why come to us? I thought but I didn't dare ask, "Why come to us?" Adam said as though reading my mind. I swaer he's trying to get us killed.
"Because, I have stuff to do, so I need you guys to either get me enough money, or kill this guy." He said in a low tone. We froze. Did he just ask us to kill someone? We can't do that!
My mind was whirling, what should we do? How should we respon
... Respond? "What's in it for us?" Adam asked.
"I'll give you guys half the money for his reward. My boss wants him dead, and there's a 500,000 dollar reward for his death." He spoke.
His boss? Wonder what he's like when this creepy guy is like this. "500,000 dollars?!" Adam screeched. We all turned to him,
"Yes, now keep your voice down before I shoot all of you. I can't risk getting caught. Which brings me to my next subject. You tell anyone, and my boss will kill you." He grow
"We can't kill someone!" Jake said.
"Then, you have to get me the money."
The man screamed a little too loud. We heard sirens in the background. "See what you've done?!" He screamed before running into the darkness. "Do not move, and do not mention me or your lives wil
...will not be worth living!" And then he was gone.
We all just stood there in stunned silence, until Adam broke it. "Um..so what.." He couldn't finish the sentence but we knew what he was thinking. What should we do?
"Did that really just happen?" Eve asked, giggling.
"Why are you laughing?" Jake asked, confused at her reaction.
Before anyone could make a suggestion or make a motion the police were making their move.
"Police! Put your hands up, and do not make a sound!" We all looked at each other with shocked expressions. "This isn't what it looks like! There was this ma-" I put my hand over Ad mouth.
Adam's mouth. "I don't wanna die today, so shut up!" I took a deep breath.
Adam mumbled something but we couldn't hear. The police approached us cautiously and slowly directed us to the police van.
While I was getting pushed into the van, I saw the man laughing in the corner. I turned towards the guys, and motioned to the corner where I saw him. When I turned back, he wasn't there.
"What is it?" Eve asked me, "I just saw someone there but...they...disappeared.." Eve gave me the 'you're crazy' Look
I groaned in frustration. "I'm not crazy, I swear." I mumbled for only myself to hear.
"Sure, we know you're not" Jake said sarcastically. Great he heard me, and so did the rest who were now laughing.
Did they not realise that we were in a POLICE van, heading towards the station? "Why aren't you guys scared?" I asked.
"Because, this could help my street cred." Adam made a stupid face. They all laughed like we weren't doing anything wrong, and I rolled my eyes. "Come on, loosen up a little!" Eve giggled.
I smiled, I just couldn't help myself. They were right, I should losen up a little. "That's better," Eve said. "
"But I'm not crazy, there really was someone there I swear." They all silently nodded.
Before we knew it, we were at the station. The van pulled to a halt, and we got out silently. They lead us down a hallway, and into a holding cell.
I got a good, long look at that officer. He was tall with a muscular build and he was looking down at us.
He was a little too built for my liking. But the odd thing about this was that they didn't question us at all. Just
Just directing us towards the cell. Why? Normally in this sort of situation you are supposed to question aren't you? I looked at the others. They looked terrified
There was nobody, the cold air and the terrible silence
turned the station into a dark confinement
"Guys, how are we gonna get out of here?" Eve whispered. I shrugged, and the guys looked like they were in deep thought. They both had a blank expression on their faces. "Hello?" I waved my ha
I waved my hand in front of their faces. Adam pointed out the barred window of the cell. "T-the man." He stuttered. We looked out there, and there was no man. "Okay
"Okay, sure. There was a man." Eve rolled her eyes. "I swear! We aren't crazy! I saw him too!" Jake yelled. "Keep it down you four!" The policeman
said, putting his feet on his desk.
We continued to talk but a tone lower. "Don't you guys find it strange?
"..Like they put us straight into the cell without no questioning?" I said, voicing what was whirling inside me. They all looked at me sharing my same concern
"Oh yeah. Aren't they supposed to ask us stuff? Like why were we in that alley?" Eve mentioned. "Hey man! Why aren't we beeing questioned?"
The policeman grunted under his breath. Dragged his legs off the table and walked towards the cell. Muttering what sounded like curses along the way.
It didn't take long for our breath to catch up to us. "You really want ta know?" The man said in
an ungrateful and stern tone. I shook my head figurously, not wanting to know. Then I saw Eve nodding yes
I looked at her in shock horror. What was she thinking? The guys didn't even say a work and make a reaction. I gave her a panic look telling her to back down because it wasn't
worth the risk. Ignorance is bliss right? So why can't we just leave it as not knowing. The policeman scoffed.
"You kids better shut you mouth before I get someone in here to take you all away to the main offices." Adam scoffed, imitating the officer.
"Oh no! The main offices, I'm so scared!" He said with a stupid expression on his face before bursting out laughing. The officer grabbed his collar through the bars.
"I've had it with you guys. Now, calm yourself down before I kill you." He said with a menacing grin on his face. I'd know that grin anywhere
I backed up into the wall. "I-it's you." I whispered. "What was that?" He raised an eyebrow at me. "You're the guy from the alley." I pointed a finger at him.
"Well." He dropped Adam back to the floor. "It seems that you are very smart, girl." He said. Everyone looked at me.
"How'd you know it was me?" He walked back and sat on the desk. "I don't know. That grin that you had on your face, it was the same one you had when you said we had to kill
someone." My heart was beating super fast now. 'And, those eyes. They were just as piercing as the man in the alley."
"Oh my, you really are a smart girl." The compliment was menancing
"So now that we cleared that up. Lets get to the bussiness shall we?"
"You're really annoying me now," Jake said. We all looked at him in horror. I nudged him in the stomach, but he dogde
he dodged me in time. He walked calmly towards the bar cell and glared at the man.
The man had a glint of astonishment on his face at the bravery the boy. "My, my, my."
"You sure are a brave one aren't you?" He said with a smirk.
"No, I'm just kind of tired of your games, if you're going to kill us then you would have done so ages ago. You obviously need us for something so just spill it."
The man groaned. "You." He pointed to Adam. Adam's face went pale. "M-me?" He stuttered. "Yes you. Your father. He is president of
that one company. Gosh, what's it called?" He got lost in thought. Adam's father. He was president of his own petrolium company, and made
A LOT of money. "I can't remember, but I need you to get me something from his office." He said, staring right into his soul.
"L-like what?" Adam gulped. We just kept watching the convorsation between them. "His keys. Perferably to the main office." He smirked.
Adam looked terrified. It was one thing to be able to get into the company, but to steal the main office keys from his father? It was a mission impossible. His father was way too strict.
He wouldn't even let Adam into the main office without being accompanied by someone first. Preferrably by his father himself. He had a hard time trusting people.
Adam shivered, "I-I" "You can't be serious" Eve interrupted. Everyone stared at Eve in
shock. What on earth is going on? "Are you out of your mind old man?" NO! I can't believe she just insulted him.
This was it. The end of all of us. Calling him an old man?! He didn't even look old. The guys just gawped at Eve.
"Why ever not princess?" The man asked, he was still smirking. His aura filled with intimidations. Eve froze.
Yup, I thought so, she pulled another Eve moment. Speaking before thinking. I wanted to yell at her but I couldn't even breath properly.
"W-what Eve meant to say was that she thinks it's a bit of a difficult task for us, kind sir." I said it.
I can't believe this was me, I never speak up. They all looked at me, while I looked at the ground as though having an intense staring contest.
The man laughed, everyone else flinched."You know girl, you sure have a way with words." He said in a deep voice while pointing at me.
"Here's the deal," He said, "I'll give you one day to make up your decision,"
"And if you don't have an answer by then..well lets just say enjoy every moment you have." He slowly unlocked the cell door.
We all looked perplexed. "You're letting us go? Why? How-" "I'll find you," he replied finishing my sentence for me. "Just make sure
you remember the deal."
He unloaked the door, and left into an unknown hallway with a huff. "Well that was wierd, come on. Let's go!" Adam rushed out the door.
When we finally reached outside, the sun was pouring on us. It was morning. I can't believe what just happened.
Tomorrow would be one rollercoaster I don't want to ride on.
End of Part One
its a new day
Kind of like a new start...
I groaned. It might have all been a nightmare if the three stooges weren't standing in my room, trying to wake me up. "Christy!"
"Ugh..." "No time for sleep, Chris, you have to help us." "Me?" That got my attention and I sat up.
ı said no
I didn't wait to hear what the plan was, I just said no.
